[OOC: Continued from this thread.]

Lore is sitting in his room, accessing large amounts of information very quickly on his computer console.

The room will look very familiar to Data-- it's an exact replica of his own quarters, in the state they were in when Lore visited the Enterprise. He kept the lights dimmer then, there was no bed on the other side of the room, and there weren't nearly the same number of paintings and various other decorative items scattered about the room.

Lore has spent the majority of his time in Milliways in this room, avoiding pointless interaction and, more recently, hiding from his brother. He requested from Bar that the computer console be fitted with information from the Milliways library, as much as she was willing to provide him with. And so he has been reviewing this information, which hasn't exactly been productive, but it feels better than doing nothing.

Suddenly, he hears a knock at the door.

"Who is that, Father?"

"That's Lore. He's your brother."

Two eyes stare back in the memory—angry, hurt, distrusting. But the owner of the memory does not process any of that. He stands, to greet this person who is like him, this person called his "brother."

"Hello, Lore."

Lore had to do it. It was the only way to be sure that Data would be faithful to him no matter what. And when his brother failed the test, he had no choice but to eliminate the only other being in the galaxy who would be intelligent enough to outsmart him and upset his plans. For the sake of his followers.

But Lore would be lying to himself if he didn't acknowledge that the thought of destroying his brother gave him some amount of pleasure. It would have been nice to be rid of him forever. Data has given him nothing but trouble since he was activated.

The fact that Lore actually grew to care about him a little was perhaps the most troublesome part of it all.

But that's all over now. Lore is getting out of here, and he's determined never to see Data again. He's certain that Data won't bother to follow. He never did before.

Lore turns around, a little startled. His brother is standing there, a phaser in hand. Lore can't resist scoffing. As if he would ever

"You should be careful with that, Brother. Someone could get hurt," he taunts. But he's alarmed to realize that his voice isn't quite as steady as normal.

Lore is outside, absentmindedly scanning the horizon, when he notices someone approaching him.

"There you are, Brother," he greets pleasantly, turning around. "Have you made any progress with La Forge?"

Months ago, Lore was drifting in space.

But now he's found his calling.

Lore waits for Data in the main hall of the abandoned building that he and his followers have claimed. He's alone. There's no doubt in his mind that his brother will come, but he paces impatiently, glancing towards the entrance from time to time.

Finally, one of his glances is met with a familiar face.
